Patari Project is a physial theatre company based in Athens-Greece. The founding members of Patari Project that are still involved with the company are Sofia Paschou, Erifili Stefanidou, Theodosis Konstas and Yannis Yannoulis.
Τhey make theatre for kids and for adults.
For their creative work they collaborate with performers, dancers, musicians as well as scenographers, costume designers, dramaturgs and other experts.
The starting point of a show is an idea or a story and they base it’s creation on improvisation. The text is always created by the group during rehearsals.
From time to time they offer workshops on the platform technique.
”We love to work with risk, that is why we chose to use the ‘platform technique’ .This way we already start with a challenge; telling a story in very limited space. A stage of very limited surface where there is barely room for the actors : the platform.
Every story is unique and therefore needs a unique platform, of the suitable shape and size, in order to be told.
We use the limited space to constrain ourselves for the purpose of becoming more creative. This way the challenge becomes our source of inspiration. The performers have to overcome the difficulty and find a way to create characters, images, rythms and landscapes – worlds even- using only their bodies and voices and counting only on each other.”
